The seeds of this caffeinated adventure were planted long ago but were awakened by my family's involvement with coffee, particularly my son—a skilled coffee roaster and barista. Their love for coffee charted the course that led me to the intricate and captivating realm of coffee roasting. I've always savor the aroma and flavor of a good cup of joe, and it was only a matter of time before I was drawn into this industry and community.
Yet, if I were to set sail into the heart of this coffee-roasting journey, it would undoubtedly be my relentless quest for the perfect cup. Fond memories beckon me to the Coffee Connection in Harvard Square, where I would sit and savor a cup of coffee that was indeed a treasure. Those moments left an indelible mark, and today, I continue my quest to rediscover the same magic I tasted in my youth.
I was learning to roast coffee in the cozy quarters of our home using a tabletop coffee roaster. To my surprise, the results were as delightful, and soon, I found myself sharing these marvelous brews with friends and family. The aroma of our roasted beans sparked inquiries and curiosity, much like a lighthouse guiding ships through the night.
Roasting was a meditative and tactile endeavor, a stark departure from my life tethered to a computer screen.
Immersed in the process, I began exploring coffees from different corners of the world, appreciating the unique flavors each held in its depths.
