Last year, during a coffee roasting school in Vermont, I had the pleasure of meeting Caleb, the Assistant Coffee Roaster at Lost Shoe. Our shared passion for coffee sparked an instant connection, and we stayed in touch over the following year. Caleb also assisted me with the ASFP fundraiser, showcasing the generosity and unity prevalent in the coffee community and suicide prevention.
Lost Shoe embraced the idea of collaboration, an essential aspect of the beer brewing community. We set out to explore the possibilities of collaborating in the realm of coffee roasting, and last weekend, we turned that vision into reality.
With summer just around the corner, we embarked on a journey celebrating the refreshing delights of cold brew coffee.
Our quest led us to the captivating region of Aceh Province, where we unearthed a Wet hulled Sumatra bean. Cupping at an impressive 86, this remarkable bean captivated us with its delightful notes for a cold brew. We knew we had found the ideal candidate for our collaborative project, a bean that would elevate the cold brew experience with Cocoa Powder and Dried Cherry notes.
This week, Lost Shoe will showcase this exceptional bean in their cold brew on tap. Additionally, they will offer the coffee in 12oz bags at their shop, allowing you to savor the experience in the comfort of your home.
